Workshops for your Organisation!

Carnival performance, Dance and Percussion

We can organise a single or series of workshops for your organisation or company and can offer classes at various levels for people of all ages, including for absolute beginners!

No previous experience is required!

We will provide most instruments, but please bring yours if you have them!

We celebrate Maracatu carnival traditions, and have a growing repertoire of songs, percussion music and dance in that tradition. The leading drum of Maracatu is an Alfaia, and which we make with wood and goatskins in the traditional way. We seek  to develop new partnerships and fusions for those traditions within the dynamic UK cultural environment, and use every opportunity to present our Maracatu.

Bringing to you the traditional instruments of Maracatu: the alfaia (drum),  abê (shekerê), gonguê (bell) and caixa (snare drum).
